Ayup, buildnode fails to compile on Lispworks 6 because of the no-breaking-space character literal in line 7 of buildnode lisp. Apparently Lispworks uses #\u+00a0 for such character literals.
Maybe something like (code-char 160) would work without any read time conditionals.
Hopefully it should be possible to accommodate this without too much trouble.
