Yo! Brand new Linux user here; trying to get tuxbox installed but it keeps giving me:

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package clone
E: Unable to locate package https://github.com/AndyCappDev
bash: cd: tuxbox: No such file or directory
bash: ./install.sh: No such file or directory

Currently running Linux Mint 22.3 if that helps.

Looks like you did not follow the installation instructions in the main readme correctly. You forgot "tuxbox.git" at the end of the git clone line. To install...

git clone https://github.com/AndyCappDev/tuxbox.git
cd tuxbox
./install.sh

I'm definitely including the tuxbox.git at the end. Not sure if I'm formatting it wrong but I've been copying and pasting exactly what the instructions say with "sudo apt install" infront since that's what mint needs to run it

Ah, I see it now — you're putting sudo apt install in front of the git clone line. Those are two different things: apt install installs software from Mint's repositories, while git clone downloads the project. So apt is trying to install packages literally named "clone" and "https://github.com/AndyCappDev", which don't exist.

Run these as three separate commands, exactly as written:

sudo apt install git
git clone https://github.com/AndyCappDev/tuxbox.git
cd tuxbox
./install.sh

Only the first line needs sudo apt install — that one installs git itself. The rest are run as-is, with no prefix.
