Apologies for the delay in replying. Have been away from coding for quite a while due to some other commitments. Would it be possible to add kikuchi band labelling function in orix or kikuchipy? I'll have some more time on our Tescan SEM this year. So hopefully will be able test the new functions.

Can you explain in more detail the specific use case and functionality you need? We already have the geometrical simulation class (docs).

We just made a minor release of kikuchipy yesterday (changelog) (with great help from @tgwoodcock). It includes a new interactive EBSD detector plotter (PR with a video, docs), which I needed for debugging. I plan to expand this plotter with:

• Band labeling (like we already have for the simulator)
• Zone axis labeling (like we already have for the simulator)
• Plot the band edges rather than the band center
• Show the unit cell orientation
• Allow hiding the detector side/top views and just show the detector plane

Could we somehow re-use this new plotter in OpenECCI?
