Our "minimal useful" release is made: https://github.com/metomi/fab/releases/tag/v1.0.0

Of course there's still a lot of work still to be done but this version should build a reasonably
wide selection of projects. It even sports a new "zero configuration" mode where it attempts to deduce what needs to be built from the source tree.

For your convenience this tool my be installed from PyPI or Conda-forge.
