Help! mod does not work

I'm following the instructions, but the mod doesn't work on the latest version of Dune OpenRa

Apparently this problem occurs because openra updated to a new R16 asset system, and this mod is very outdated and its still using the R8 system, so it cant find DATA.R8 and crashes.

No idea how to fix it other than for the author to update the mod to the latest version of openra

Okay, i managed to get it working by download version https://github.com/OpenRA/OpenRA/releases/tag/release-20230225 of openRA, opening 2000 with it, downloading the game files, and then launching the dune 2 mod but warning, its broken.

Has no music, campaign, and the mentat button crashes the game.

The author just needs to update the mod because the music files come with the original game, the mod just presumably doesnt use them since we werent told where those are and where to put them.

Not sure if its just me but i tried running a fresh install and after i made it copy the music and briefings of dune 2000 from the cd, in openra, i cant go forward. I only have a back button and pressing it or escape just flashes the screen and brings me back to the manage content menu. Relaunching openra didnt help.

Edit: Also, inside the d2 master folder where it created its own openra installation, there is no support folder in \engine.

In addition, may i ask you to change the order of the files in the readme to atre, dune, finale, hark, intro, ordos, scenario, voc? So it reflects the default order they come in, in file explorer, as opposed to seemingly random and needing to look all over the folder for these files?

Okay, it was doing that because the D2 files werent in appdata\roaming\OpenRA\content\d2. It works now.

For anyone reading this who wants to put the new installation of openra this mod created, into portable mode so its not using the files in appdata, create a Support folder in d2-master\engine. To get the files for d2k, download and mount the Dune2000CD, my abandonware has it, start launch-game.cmd here, and click the button for it to copy the files.

Now put ATRE.PAK, DUNE.PAK, FINALE.PAK, HARK.PAK, INTRO.PAK, ORDOS.PAK, SCENARIO.PAK, and VOC.PAK into d2-master\engine\Support\Content\d2

This'll only work if you previously created the support folder in engine and launched with launch-game.cmd, so it can create the rest of the folder structure.

This should work for both .pak files in the AppData folder and .pak files in the Support/Content folder.
Unfortunately, creating content installer like the one used for D2K is illegal. Users must copy the orignal pak files themselves.

OpenRA itself downloads the necessary D2K files. It only needs music and briefings, which it can copy, i just need to put in the CD
