Opened URLs on MacOS point to the wrong address

Attempting to open threads On MacOS 15.6.1 with the default Safari option results in a tab with the URL pointing to:
file:///Users/{user_name}/Library/Containers/com.apple.Safari/Data/https:/f95zone.to/threads/{thread_number}

I did not change any settings. Safari was automatically detected as a browser.

"https:/f95zone.to/threads/{thread_number}" this is not possible. you must have done something wrong to make this happen. web urls are "https://..." not "https:/...", youre missing a slash. games managed by f95checker have the url formatted correctly, this must be something you added manually with a wrong url in some way. and since it doesnt have a proper url schema, it was not opened as a website, but as a filename inside of the browser current working directory.

Nope, don't know what to tell you. I have not added any games manually, and this is happening to games automatically added via the search function. I have modified your requirements.txt the remove zipdeflate, but that's about it.

If I copy the the url via the ui button, indeed it is correct. It's when it gets opened in Safari where things go wrong.

You can't see my cursor, but in that video I first copy the URL, which is formatted correctly. When opening it in Safari, it is messed up. Anyways I don't think you can debug this since I saw you said you don't have a Mac. I might look into it at some point.

this looks like a weird slash symbol, almost like 2 slashes merged as 1 character

if thats the case it could be that when opening it, safari is converting it to a single slash

if instead its a custom ligature in your font and they are in fact 2 separate slash characters, it has to be something else. can you show what options you have in the browser dropdown of the settings sidebar?

It's just a rendering issue of the terminal. It's two slashes.

I have the same error. Apparently, it only doesn't work with Safari. However, it works fine with Firefox (Mac Mini M4Pro, macOS Tahoe, F95Checker 11.1-1704).

Going through old notifications, I came across this. I've experienced the same issue with Opera GX on Windows 10.

The only way I could get around it was by using a batch file as an intermediary.
Turned out I had to put quotes around the argument variable in the batch file for Opera GX not to treat it as a file link. If there's an equivalent method on Macs, you might want to try it to see if that solves the issue with Safari.
