Window Stuck Underneath Desktop

I installed and used WindowTop specifically to trace an image from my gallery onto a website in Chrome. So I had the image set to On Top and lowered the Opacity. I went fullscreen in chrome (F11) to align the two windows better. Once I was done, I exited the On Top/Transparency and did some finishing touches in the Chrome window, but the moment I switched away from the Chrome window, something happened and now the Desktop is stuck on top of that window? Or something like that. All I know is that when I click on the window, nothing happens, and when I right-click on the window, it gives me the Desktop right-click menu. I can open new tabs via right-clicking the start menu and can minimize/maximize it, but the moment I click into the Chrome window itself, it's like clicking on the Desktop.

Help?

Hello, I tried what seemed to be the scenario you described, and I was unable to reproduce it. This is what I tried:

1. I opened a window displaying an image and used WindowTop to set it to Always-on-Top and Opacity.
2. After that, I pressed F11 in Google Chrome to enter full-screen mode.
3. Then, I disabled the Opacity & Always-on-Top modes on the window displaying the image.

The problem you described did not reoccur.

What I suspect happened to you is likely related to the "Enable click-through" feature that you can access also from the toolbar (and it's also possible as well to use it via hotkey):

It is very possible that you accidentally activated this mode using a hotkey (most likely) on the Google Chrome window.
This would explain why, when you right-clicked, it showed the desktop context menu even though you were actually seeing the Google Chrome browser on the screen and clicked on it.

Does this happen to you frequently?
I assume this is the result of a user error rather than a bug.

In any case, if you find yourself in this situation, the simplest way to recover is to set a specific hotkey that disables click-through mode for all windows, as shown in this image:

The idea is that if you accidentally enter this mode again, you can use the hotkey you defined as a quick way to exit it.

I think this hotkey option should be available directly in the WindowTop tray menu (like the "Un-PiP all windows", "Minimize all windows" options, and others). I was surprised that I didn't include it there. I think it would be a good idea to add it. I might actually do that.

The second method you can try is simply using the green arrow shown on Google Chrome—even in this situation, the green arrow should appear on the Google Chrome window even when click-through mode is active. (This is the arrow that appears when you move your mouse cursor to the top of the window).
This arrow should open the toolbar, where you should have the option to disable it (as I showed in the first image).
However, if you have configured the Opacity button not to appear in the toolbar, or if you have disabled the toolbar entirely, then setting a hotkey is your best option.
