OpenTree API calls

Can you confirm which OpenTree API methods you are using in Arbor? We are about to update our APIs to v3 and also cleaning up the code that serve the synthetic tree. We have an unpublicized method called getDraftTreeChildNodesForNodeID with a code comment about arbor interoperability. Planning to deprecate, but wanted to check with you.

Arbor hasn’t tested the OpenTree connections much the last few months, so I’ll go through them before the weekend starts. Here is the list of calls Arbor currently uses in the methods already developed:

v2/tree_of_life/induced_subtree

taxomachine/v1/autocompleteBoxQuery (out of date?)

/v2/studies/find_trees

treemachine/v1/getDraftTreeSubtreeForNodes (out of date?)

v2/tnrs/match_names

v2/tree_of_life/induced_subtree

Thanks, @curtislisle . FYI, the v1 methods should be considered unsafe (not officially deprecated, but could happen at any time). Official API is still v2 but we will be moving to v3 within the next few weeks. Again, v2 won't be immediately deprecated, but will happen at some point.

Some of those methods are changing, @uyedaj . When the V3 APIs go live, we'll post on the announcements list, twitter, etc. See Contact page. Welcome feedback on the proposals anytime, though.
