The highlight is not highlighted

According to one of the official Markdown guides, "==blah blah ==" (something enclosed in two equal signs both sides) must be a highlited sentence.

Expected would be the equal signs not shown and the sentence to be somehow highlighted.

• This isn’t common.
• It is an Extended Syntax.
• Some Markdown processors allow you to highlight text.
• You can highlight using "mark" html tag (supported by GFM):
