Describe the bug in current situation
A Community Contribution Company (CCC) is presented with the Consent to Continue Out option under More Actions in the modernized Business Registry. Under the Business Corporations Act a CCC cannot continue out of BC, so the option should not be available and the filing should not be possible for this business type.
Impact of this bug
A client can self-serve and pay for a consent to continue out filing that is invalid in law. Staff then have to reverse or refund the filing, and an invalid consent letter may be issued and relied on by another jurisdiction. Impacted users: any CCC in BC that attempts a continuation out, plus registry staff who must remediate.
Steps to Reproduce
- Log in to the BC Business Registry with a BC Services Card account.
- Select a CCC business from the My Business Registry list (BC3000213).
- Click More Actions.
- Observe that Consent to Continue Out is listed and selectable.
- Select Consent to Continue Out and observe that the filing form opens and can be completed.
