Plans for the project

Hello - I wanted to check in on if there are plans to continue this project. I am working on the official https://github.com/connectrpc/connect-python and I think it has progressed quite a bit from when this was first released, when there wasn't any official implementation yet. There haven't been many changes in a while - if this project is sort of a POC, I wonder if we can going forward align on the official implementation. And if so, would it be possible to transfer the connectrpc package name to the connect organization then? It was actually the name we wanted to use but it was already taken.

Anyways, I don't intend to push on this or anything but just wanted to sync up on it once. If it's easier to discuss on chat, I am available in CNCF and Buf slack workspaces, or you can email the address in my profile.

Sorry for the delay.

This repository was originally developed as a PoC when there was no official implementation available. Now that the official implementation in connectrpc/connect-python is actively being developed, I plan to use that going forward.

I'm happy to transfer the connectrpc package name to the official organization. Please let me know how you’d like to proceed with the transfer.

I’ll reach out on the Buf Slack shortly to coordinate the details.
