The Node Gradle plugin is almost abandoned and not compatible with Gradle 5: https://github.com/srs/gradle-node-plugin/issues/315 https://github.com/srs/gradle-node-plugin/issues/299 In the comments in those issues someone suggests https://plugins.gradle.org/plugin/com.liferay.node but I'm not really sure if the plugin has all the things that we need for the frontend stuff.
