[Bug]: Sync Engine plugin fails to enable and cannot finish initialization on TFY‑AN40 Android device

Real Outcome

When attempting to enable the Sync Engine plugin in Obsidian for Android on device TFY‑AN40, the plugin fails to activate with the error message Plugin failed to load. After toggling the enable switch, the plugin cannot complete initialization and automatically reverts to the disabled state. No further detailed error pop‑ups appear, the sync engine never gets activated, and the plugin settings page cannot be accessed for further sync configuration.

Device information:

• Device Model: TFY‑AN40
• System Build: Magic UI 6.1.0.181(C00E181R4P5patch01) GPU Turbo
• Magic UI Version: 6.1
• Android Version: 12

Expected Outcome

After toggling the enable switch, Sync Engine should initialize successfully and stay enabled. The plugin settings page should be accessible, and sync‑engine related features should be configurable and functional.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open Obsidian Android app and open target vault on TFY‑AN40 device
2. Navigate to Settings → Community plugins, locate Sync Engine in plugin list
3. Tap the enable toggle switch to activate the plugin
4. Observe the error prompt Plugin failed to load and plugin status reverting to disabled

now I use old webdev-sync plugin temporarily

I think this is a compatibility issue. Now we need to temporarily jump out of Obsidian and access your phone system settings.

• Go to your system Settings → Apps → App management (the real path may vary greatly, but our destination is a list of user & system Apps)
• Search for Android System WebView and click into (this is the framework that runs Obsidian)
• Try to find the version of it.
• If you can find the version, please tell me what it is.

It is OK if you won't update. Sync Engine unintendedly used a very modern API in WebView that old versions might not support. That API can be easily dropped without affecting normal functionalities.

That API is dropped in a commit in #235. You can wait for v3.1 and see whether that addresses the issue.
