helms should have an "orbit" button. It should match the speed and heading to the distance from the nearby planet. Of course it can't just set the new speed and heading. It should be limited to the same physics, so use thrust and heading controls until the orbiting is matched. Then there should be a state indicator showing the helmsman that the orbit is successful
