Do you think it is as simple as finding the firmware files and loading them?

Sound just begins to work on the Yoga 7. You need a topology file, and probably additions to alsa ucm. I would suggest a little patience, in 2 weeks or so they will have figured it out. This seems to be the current state: linux-msm/audioreach-topology#3
