Hi, I use essentials discord and was wondering how to get chat messages to show up from IN game to Discord? AFK messages are working (showing up in discord) but chat is not. So the bot is working correctly. If I disable chatcontrol it works but then I loose access to my channels I have setup. Any help would be appreciated. Nothing is showing up in server log as an error.

I am using ChatControl-12.2.0.jar

Hey!

This is caused by EssentialsDiscord only relaying chat when the chat event's recipient list contains all online players. ChatControl's channels deliver messages to players directly and empty that list, so EssentialsDiscord skips the relay. AFK messages use a different event, which is why those still work.

Set show-all-chat: true under the chat section in EssentialsDiscord's config.yml and restart. It then relays chat regardless of recipients.

Two notes:

• Don't set Cancel_Event: true on your channels (it's off by default), EssentialsDiscord ignores cancelled events.
• EssentialsDiscord only sees chat typed on its own backend server. Messages arriving from other servers through Velocity won't be relayed by it, so install it on each backend if you want all chat in Discord.

That worked to get chat showing up in my main discord but all channels are now being shown there. Meaning my admin chat which should not show up there is showing up there. Any more ideas? Again ty!!!!

Good news, there's a per-channel switch exactly for this. EssentialsDiscord skips cancelled chat events even with show-all-chat: true, so add Cancel_Event: true to your admin channel in settings.yml:

Then run /chc reload. The channel keeps working normally for the players in it, ChatControl just hides it from plugins listening to chat, like EssentialsDiscord or DynMap. Your other channels stay visible in Discord.
