I know my use case is a niche one, but this has become an annoyance as of late. I shoot with a Nikon F6, and have an app that interprets the metadata CSVs that the camera produces using an MV-1 data recorder. This app works via EXIFTool. When I process .dng scanner raws to which I have written the metadata from the camera, NegPy truncates said metadata. It would be helpful if, at the top of the metadata tab, a checkbox could select whether or not the user wants any metadata alteration or not, IE, not just have locked options, but to have no changes made at all, for NegPy to touch nothing.
Alternatively, allow for exporting with the .tif extension instead of the full four character .tiff, maybe as a selection underneath the format dropdown menu. This would also solve the issue, as the metadata writing app is quite old and rarely maintained. As such, it only looks for .tif files.
Thank you!
