Model Picker Missing in GitHub Copilot Chat View After Installing Eclipse Nightly Plugin

• OS: Ubuntu 26.04 LTS
• Eclipse Version: 2026-06 (4.40.0)
• Plugin Version: GitHub Copilot for Eclipse Plugin Version: 0.20.0.202607080749_nightly

Describe the bug
The latest "What's New" documentation states that GitHub Copilot for Eclipse now supports organization-enabled custom models in the model picker. However, after installing the latest nightly plugin, I do not see a model picker in the Copilot Chat view. The Chat view opens, but it is not working and there is no option to select a model or view any organization-enabled custom models.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
1 . Install Eclipse 2026-06 (4.40.0).
2 . Go to Help → Eclipse Marketplace.
3 . Search for GitHub Copilot.
4 . Install the latest nightly plugin (version 0.20.0.202607080749_nightly).
5 . Restart Eclipse when prompted.
6 . Open the GitHub Copilot Chat view.
7 . Observe that the Chat view opens successfully, but there is no model picker available.

Expected behavior
After installing the latest GitHub Copilot plugin and restarting Eclipse, the Copilot Chat view should display a model picker, allowing users to select from the built-in Copilot models and any organization-enabled custom models (when available), as described in the "What's New" announcement.

I wonder if you close and reopen Chat view, would it have the missing data?

No. I tried closing and reopening the Chat view, but the missing data is still not displayed. The issue persists even after reopening the Chat view.

Any errors in the Eclipse error log or on the shell (please start Eclipse from command line to see shell)?

What I see locally is that Copilot 0.20 requests libsecret / keystore access (was not the case before with 0.19, I assume CLS was updated), and if the prompt for the key store (looks like this below)

is not properly configured, not shown or not confirmed, Copilot may report error below:

[KeytarMasterKey] keytar-master-key: master-key resolution failed Error: setMasterKey: timeout after 5000ms
    at Timeout._onTimeout (/snapshot/copilot-language-server-internal/dist/main.js:1923:28236)
    at listOnTimeout (node:internal/timers:585:17)
    at process.processTimers (node:internal/timers:521:7)

and (wild guess) this could be something which prevents model info to be acquired.

Not sure however, if that is the root cause for you.

Yes, the token persistence logic has been changed in the bundled cls in 0.20. this might be a reason.

I opened Eclipse from the terminal, and everything appears to work correctly in the terminal output. However, the Chat view inside Eclipse is not functioning properly.
