On a standalone Windows Server 2025 Standart ver 24H2, RDP-only access is protected with multiOTP two-factor authentication. When a user enters the correct username and password, the system prompts for a 2FA token. If the user enters an incorrect token, they are returned to the login screen. However, if they then select ‘Other user’ and enter the same username and password again, the 2FA token is no longer requested and the user is allowed to log in.
