[QUESTION] Chrome extension + Transparency

Hello,

I see from the latest commits that there is indeed progress toward supporting the extension on Chrome. I appreciate it greatly.

I'd like to ask whether the following extension is the official, legitimate extension, since it's not yet trusted by Enhanced Protection.

Hi! Yes, that is the chromium version of the extension :)

I am working on another article/ post in the website generalizing the use of the extension between Zen and now Chromium as well but haven't. yet publishes so there's why no links were added. You're right to confirm first as browser extensions are quite scary these days.

Thanks! I've left it open for now and updated the title to include transparency, which I want to expand upon a little and perhaps see if anyone has a better solution:

For Linux users, KDE especially, since I'm not aware of Chrome having native transparency the same way Firefox does (at least I found nothing akin in Chrome flags), and as a workaround, I use the Active Opacity window effect:

1. Alt + F3
2. More Settings
3. Configure Special Window Actions
4. Add Property (bottom left)
5. Active Opacity
6. Set to Force at 75% (seems to be the sweet spot)

Then you can combine this with Better Blur DX on KDE to get a very nice effect together with this extension on Chrome.

As a note, Active Opacity doesn't distinguish text, videos, images, etc., so everything will be semi-transparent, though it doesn't bother me much on videos and the sort. If you put Active Opacity too low, text will become difficult to read, so I don't recommend setting it below 60%.

If anyone has a better solution for Chrome, I'm all ears.

I gave a try on macOS but did not have time to build Helium. But at least Chromium is working on UI transparency so if that comes smoothly soon, I might give another try at implementing website transparency.
