There is a quiet truth most people already understand, even if they don’t always say it out loud. When something is simple and fair, people trust it. When it feels confusing or controlled by too many middle layers, people hesitate. Ticketing has lived in that second world for a long time.
If you have ever tried to buy a ticket and wondered if it was real, or paid more than expected at checkout, then you already understand the problem. It is not just about tickets. It is about trust.
Onchain ticketing is not trying to reinvent events. It is trying to restore the trust that got lost.
A Better Way, Not a New Way
It’s not about making ticketing more complicated. It’s about removing the parts that made it confusing and insecure in the first place.
It’s not about forcing people to learn something new either. It’s about making the experience feel more natural, something that just works without needing extra effort or second-guessing.
And it’s not about replacing event organizers. It’s about giving them back control over their own audience.
This is where Unlock EVENTScomes in, taking something that used to feel heavy and turning it into something you can set up in minutes, without losing clarity or control.
So What Is Unlock EVENTS, Really?
At its core, Unlock EVENTS is a simple way to create and sell tickets that live 'onchain' (on a blockchain). No stress, no overthinking. Instead of your ticket being locked inside one app or platform, it goes straight to the buyer’s wallet. That means it’s easy to check, hard to fake, and actually is something you own, not something you’re borrowing.
The best part is you don’t even have to think about all the 'how it works' stuff. From your side, it feels like setting up a normal event page. Add your details, share your link, and you’re good. Clean, simple, and it just makes sense.
Step-by-Step: How to Sell Tickets Using Unlock EVENTS
Let’s walk through it slowly, the same way you would explain it to a friend.
Step 1: Create Your Event You start by setting up your event, and honestly, this part feels like filling out a form. You give your event a name, write a short description, pick a date and time, and that’s it. No weird setup, no confusion. You’re just telling people what you’re planning, the same way you would anywhere else online.
Step 2: Set Your Ticket Details Now you decide how your tickets should work. You choose the price or make it free, set how many tickets are available, and decide if people can resell or transfer them. This is where it quietly feels different. It’s not some platform adding random fees or rules behind the scenes. You’re the one in control of how access works.
Step 3: Publish and Share Once everything looks good, you hit publish. You get a link, and that link is your whole ticket page. From here you can share it anywhere, such as X, WhatsApp, via Email, etc. The special ingredient: If you want to embed it into your own website's event page. No problem at all, it just takes one little extra step of creating a checkout URL with Unlock:
Anyone with the link can open it and mint a ticket (unless you set different conditions, which is also a possibility). There is no waiting room. No hidden steps. No strange redirects.
Step 4: People Mint Their Tickets When someone clicks your link, they just mint their ticket. It goes straight into their wallet (or email if they don't have a wallet, Unlock creates one for them). Not a screenshot, not a PDF that can be copied and passed around. It’s something they actually own. For them, it feels quick and smooth. For you, it means no stress about fake tickets showing up at your event.
Step 5: Manage Your Attendees As people get tickets, you can see your attendee list in real time. And this part hits differently. It’s not just a list of buyers, it’s your actual community. These are the people showing up. Later, you can invite them again, reward them, or just stay connected. It doesn’t end after a single event and isn't bound to a single platform.
Step 6: Check People In On the day of the event, if it is in person, check-in is simple. Every ticket comes with a QR code; you scan it, and you’re done. No app crashing at the gate, no long lines because something isn’t working, no second-guessing if a ticket is real. It just works the way it should: Simple and secure.
What Changes for Attendees
From the attendee’s side, the experience becomes easier and more trustworthy. By using blockchain-secured ticketing with Unlock, they can be reassured that:
The ticket is real
The price is what they saw
They own it
If you allow transfers, they can safely pass their ticket to someone else. It’s not about turning them into 'crypto users.' It’s about making the process feel reliable again.
What Changes for Organizers
For organizers, this shift hits a bit deeper. You’re no longer handing your audience over to some platform and hoping for the best. You’re building your own connection with them. Payments come straight to you, you decide how tickets work, and you choose how to keep people engaged even after the event. It just feels more direct, like you’re actually in charge of your own space.
That said, it’s only fair to mention there’s a tiny learning curve at the start. If you’ve never used a wallet before, setting things up might take a few extra minutes. But once you get past that first step, everything else feels lighter. You spend less time dealing with issues and more time focusing on the actual event.
And on the bright side, Unlock is a community and always ready to help out! We now even offer a service to support you on your journey in a much more dedicated way. Reach out if you are interested in our Telegram channel.
A Balanced Way to Look at It
It would be easy to say this fixes everything overnight, but it doesn’t. Some people still prefer what they’re used to, some events might not need this level of control, and some organizers will take their time figuring it all out, which is completely fair. Still, even with all that, this new direction clearly offers more benefits than drawbacks for both the organizers and attendees.
At the start, we talked about trust. Not in some big, abstract way, but in the small moments that actually matter. Buying a ticket. Showing up. Getting in without stress or second-guessing. Unlock EVENTS changes how we experience events as a whole.
So if you’ve ever been scammed buying a ticket, or even felt that slight doubt at checkout, this feels like one of those quiet fixes that just clicks the moment you use it. Nothing dramatic, nothing complicated. Just something that works the way you expected it to all along, and honestly, that’s all most people really want.

Greetings, Locksmiths!
Another month of bustling activity and the Unlock Train continues along the tracks we have laid out for it 🛤🛤🚂🛤🛤
We've got Steward Role renewals, Contributor Spotlights, Finance & Marketing updates, and all kinds of opportunities to contribute. It's always a great time to be engaged, so make sure you check out all the updates in this month's newsletter to get inspired for what you want to contribute next...
We had a big month in June for governance, with a whole entire proposal getting approved! The May Payroll was successfully executed, keeping the Unlock DAO train moving onward. Work is getting accomplished in many different areas; we've got people working on the train engine, we've got people out scouting the tracks for new destinations, and there's a hive of activity in the train cars themselves, promoting and progressing community projects of many flavors!
Every train needs responsible people managing key roles, and that is why Unlock has a core of DAO Stewards to help keep things rolling:
Recently, my poorly formatted proposal was approved for Communications Steward. It is my responsibility to keep our weekly DAO calls organized and relevant. I also draft this newsletter every month to help keep everyone informed!
Andreu is refreshing his role as the Steward of Finances. Please review his proposal and cast your votes!
Ceci has also drafted her renewal for Steward of Marketing. Please review it for important info on all that the Marketing Team has accomplished under her expert care! Leave any feedback or questions in the chat.
Anupa is drafting a proposal for funding the work she's done with the U-Make-Us program she developed and shipped this year. This has been a fantastic series, so make sure you check our Community Spotlights to see who has been building their communities and projects with Unlock. This is steward-level work that has been volunteered and, as such, deserves serious consideration for compensation & reputation from the DAO if we wish to see the work continue.
Marketing Progress
Metopia
The first campaign for Metopia has concluded, with an impressive 3,867 users engaging. The program focused on introducing people to Unlock and helping them discover how to use it. Everything always starts with education!
With this groundwork in place, the second campaign with Metopia will be structured specifically around driving more paid locks. Projects and communities that generate e-commerce and use Unlock to manage their workflows are the lifeblood of the protocol, so this is a crucial next step for Unlock to continue on the track toward a sustainable economy.
Incented
An important part of a decentralized organization is drawing from a community of active contributors. This means people generating submissions for the DAO, in the form of usable content. It isn't as simple as just letting anyone post 'official content', however. There has to be structure, guidelines, and accountability to ensure that consensus reflects the entire DAO, not just the arbitrary decisions of a chaotic system.
Enter Incented: a platform built to enable a community to actively participate in making submissions as well as deciding which ones are approved vs denied.
Officially launched on June 8th, the Incented Campaign offers cold, hard cash (repurposed from the Carrot Castle sponsorship at EthDenver2025) for participants and $UP tokens for voters. Both content contributors and voters are rewarded, so everyone can participate!
Check out this intro videofrom Stella to get informed on how to participate!
Straight from Ceci's role renewal application, here are the stats on engagement from the Marketing Team:
Awareness
161,000+ X impressions
17,600+ LinkedIn impressions
6,100+ TikTok views
👥 Community Activation
3,867 participants engaged through Metopia
3,800+ users completed Unlock Academy missions
Active contributor ecosystem maintained throughout the year
🌐 Website Growth
+471% website activity during educational campaigns
Protocol Adoption
+57% increase in locks created
+38% increase in keys minted
The numbers don't lie: the Marketing Team is getting the word out there! It is up to us, the DAO, to make good use of this ecosystem awareness and keep connecting with projects that produce real value for their communities and align with the goals of Unlock.
Financial Tracking
Andreu has the next quarterly budget drafted and should move to the proposal stage soon. The current wait is on the Steward role refresher proposals. Once they are nailed down and approved, this proposal will go up for voting as well.
We also have a new budget-tracking and forecasting report, courtesy of our stalwart Steward of Finances. This resource should help DAO members make more informed decisions about expense proposals and new initiatives to manage & generate revenue. You can download the full PDF here.
There is a lot of great data and analysis in the full report, so I highly recommend reviewing it. Here are the strategic recommendations from the report:
These are important considerations for us to take seriously as we continue to push the Unlock Train out of the station: we need enough runway to reach the next destination to avoid getting stranded without access to support! If you have thoughts, insights, or alternative analyses to share about this data, please hit us up on Telegram!
Technology Updates
A crucial part of any decentralized protocol is managing the technical contributions of a wide audience of potential contributors. With the advent of AI, automated and semi-automated GitHub commits have become a major source of spam. This further exacerbates the burden of managing contributions as we transition away from a formerly closed team structure.
As Julien continues to work his way through submissions, we, as a DAO, must strive to help by coordinating and self-organizing in a way that actually reduces this burden, not adds to it. This is no easy task, but if you are one of the many GitHub contributors who have expressed interest in helping us attack our list of issues and improve our docs, then make sure you head over to Telegram and find the "Technical Contributions" topic to share what you are/would like to work on to help make your contributions more visible and easily vetted! Let's get organized! Feel free to tag me directly in the TG group to get more involved.
Community Activity
I want to take this time to give a little bit more exposure to Anupa's work on the U-Make-Us series. This showcase event has been fantastic at drawing attention to important projects that are actively using Unlock to help them achieve their community goals. As season 1 comes to a close, now is the time to review this great contribution and consider its value in helping push the goals of the DAO:
Learn more about Thibaut and what he's contributed to Unlock re: the integration with ENS that enables new levels of decentralized onchain naming for Unlock contracts.
Check out this episode to see an advanced implementation of Unlock that showcases the protocol's potential beyond the entry-level use we are most familiar with.
Catch up with G2 and learn how he is using AI and decentralized onchain primitives like Unlock to help bring music artistry into the next generation in a way that empowers and inspires human creativity.
Find out what the legendary WillT is up to and how he has been building with Unlock for longer than almost anyone in the community, plus some secret tips from a master of productivity to help you streamline your workflows.
These episodes are not only interesting and entertaining, but they are shining examples of why Unlock exists and what it enables for other projects. The more we share these stories, the sooner other projects will learn how to use Unlock to achieve their own community goals.
The Slow Shift to Telegram
The demise of Discord seems somewhat inevitable. It is a lot of overhead to manage a Discord server, and the days of thousands of daily active users in DAO Discords are gone. As the contribution circle tightens around the DAO's active core, many have found themselves most active on Telegram rather than Discord. This is a signal, one that needs to be acknowledged.
As such, the Steward team has migrated entirely to Telegram. We will keep the Discord open and updated as best we can, but if you want to engage in a more regular contribution cycle, Telegram is the place to be.
Make sure to join us and share your feedback on all topics from this month's newsletter, and bring up topics you'd like to see more attention on!
Thanks for following along, fellow locksmiths, and always remember:
Unlock isn't just a tool for access — it's a protocol for belonging.

Greetings Locksmiths!
Another trip around the calendar and here we are with another monthly roundup of DAO activity! Thanks for joining me on this quick journey through what has been happening with Unlock over the past month.
We've had people on vacation or out sick, new contributors stepping into new roles, and collaborations shipping products that have Unlock running at their core. A wild ride, as usual, but nothing we rodeo clowns can't handle! Let's take a quick dip into the water and see what has been going on underneath the surface:
As you can see, we missed quorum again on one of our votes, but that will happen sometimes, and we're back on the beat again, so it's business as usual in the land of DAOs!
Our resident Governance nerd, Anupa, has started a thread on Discord to discuss proposal drafting and writing a good proposal. Make sure to check out the thread and drop your thoughts about proposals and good strategies for a successful prop.
Speaking of...
DAO Operations
It's been an exciting time for the DAO with increased interest from contributors all across the spectrum. We have devs itching to work on Github bounties, community projects shipping new products utilizing Unlock, and new contributor initiatives kicking off to showcase everything that has been progressing in our ecosystem!
We recently had a guest appearance from a community member, Regis Chapman, who has been building a tool to advance the language of DAOs and create more precise frameworks for structuring organizations in a clearer, more accurate, and more intentional manner. This fits perfectly with our ongoing initiative to keep our documentation and marketing up to date, accurately reflecting who we are and how our DAO works. Stella and Danni are working to refine the process so we can push updates out as community members identify areas of improvement.
On the topic of how we represent ourselves to the public:
Marketing & Promotion Updates
The Metopia Campaign continues to progress as numbers keep climbing, as more people participate. As we lean into the platform more, the Metopia team continues to work with us on designing the next round as we push forward to more meaningful engagement. Keep your eyes peeled for the next campaign, designed for even deeper engagement with the protocol and to further onboard more community members and projects as we work together to get more memberships onchain in a composable and sovereign way.
The Incented campaign also continues forward as we work closely with Sven to draft a program that meets the needs of our community for facilitating more decentralized participation with our marketing and promotion efforts. So get your memes ready and start drafting your elite content, because contests and opportunities to contribute are on the horizon!
U-Make-Us continues to be a hit as Anupa starts to catch her stride with Community Projects. This is an amazing showcase of projects that have successfully integrated Unlock, giving everyone insights into how Unlock enables them to take their ideas and build seamless onchain membership management. So far, we've had 4 Episodes go live:
P2E Inferno -Danni updated us with the first-tranche grant report. Unlock is now deeply embedded across access control with learning quests including a "deploy lock" task type, and an AI discovery layer. As of the report: 157 check-ins, 811 task claims (both EAS-attested on-chain), 4 buys, and 16 sells on the vendor, and roughly 16,000 DG (~50K UP) distributed. The team pivoted from manual to automated verification — including AI-based verification (Gemini) for social-media tasks — to make the system scalable. A chess tournament partnership with Nigeria's active chess community ran over the weekend; future events will be promoted through the Discord #share-your-event channel.
Green Goods/Greenwill - First badge set deploying on Arbitrum. The three core credentials are:
Genesis ("I am here" — early alignment, witnessed on-chain)
First Work (first garden submission)
First Support (vault deposit).
Earth Week activations took place across Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya, New York City, Hong Kong, Venezuela, and Taiwan. The team also won a contest at Funding the Commons for additional project support.
Phoenix Gate app - Stella and Karel demod Phoenix Gate, the NFC burner-wallet check-in app that is nearing public release. Recent additions include a customization feature for branded event check-in screens. The build is funded by a grant from the Acronym Foundation, with a planned pilot through Digital Spenders Club. The duo is looking for beta testers once the app goes live on the Google Play Store and the AppStore. If you are interested, reach out to Stella directly via the Unlock channels.
Dappcon is using Unlock again for ticketing checkout. The integration is live on the Dappcon site. Get your ticket now before it is too late:
Current Action Items
Here's how you can get involved and prepare for the discussions coming up:
Review the following topics to add to the discussion:
The governance proposal FAQ thread, Anupa is opening on Discord — what barriers, questions, or hesitations have you run into when thinking about bringing a proposal forward?
Documentation gaps — if you've noticed anything outdated, missing, or unclear in the public docs, flag it now while updates are actively being prioritized.
Open GitHub bounties — if you're a developer, check the repo and confirm with Julien before starting work.
P2E Inferno is ready for event planners to test out the platform!
If you are an Unlock Community Member, don't hesitate to post in our spotlight channel so we can shed some light on what you are building!
Share our social media posts and engage with campaigns across X, Tik Tok, LinkedIn, YouTube, Farcaster—let's amplify our message together!
Thanks for following along, fellow locksmiths, and always remember:
Unlock isn't just a tool for access — it's a protocol for belonging.

Some ideas don’t come in loud. They don’t try to impress you right away. They just sit there quietly until you start to see them differently. That’s what this new campaign of ours feels like. Unlock x Incented feels simple on the surface, has quite the right stack of complexity, and the more you think about it, the more it makes sense for us to run a campaign like that.
At first glance, it looks like just another content challenge. Make a short video. Submit it. Earn something. But it’s not really about that. It’s not about chasing attention. It’s about explaining something clearly and in a friendly way. It’s about creating understanding for Unlock Protocol. But most importantly, it’s not about one person winning everything. This campaign is about people contributing in their own way and getting recognized for it.
Who is the Challenge for, and what is it about?
Let me give you an example by introducing an imaginary person named Jef. He’s not a big creator with a huge following, but he likes making short videos here and there. Nothing too serious. One day, he comes across Unlock. At first, it feels like one of those things you have to “figure out” before you can even talk about it. Memberships, smart contracts, all of that. But the more he looks at it, the simpler it gets.
It’s not really about tech. It’s about helping people control their work and their audience without unnecessary middlemen.
Then he sees the Unlock x Incentive campaign. He sits down and makes a 15 to 40-second video. He focuses on a specific user group within Unlock and explains how it helps them. That’s it.
At first, it sounds almost too simple. But then it clicks. This isn’t about making the best video on the internet. It’s about explaining something in a way that actually makes sense and is easy to follow. And the reward is the cherry on top of the cake!
What is in it for you?
There’s $600 USDC for creators and 30,000 UP tokens for voters. But it’s not structured like most competitions, where one person takes everything.
Here, if your video meets the mark (51% quorum) and gets enough support from the community, you qualify. That means more than one person can win. It shifts the whole mindset.
You’re not fighting for attention; instead, clear, understandable, and well-done educational content is rewarded. If it is fun to watch on top, great, go for it!
How to take part as a Creator & a Voter
So how do you actually join our first campaign with Incented? There are two ways, not mutually exclusive: You can take part as a Creator and/or a Voter.
For CREATORS
To get back to our imaginary friend: Jef didn’t overthink it. He picked an audience he understood was already using Unlock, as outlined in our Social Media Guidelines. Then he asked himself a simple question: “If my friend wanted to sell tickets and be in full control of them for his next event, how would I explain this to him?”
That question shaped his video. He didn’t try to sound technical. He didn’t try to sound impressive. He just made it easy to follow. That was enough. Because when the community reviews submissions, they’re not looking for perfection. They’re looking for four simple things.
Can people understand it?
Is it correct?
Does it hold attention?
Does it feel like Unlock?
That’s really it. Of course, it’s not all effortless. Some people might struggle to simplify their thoughts. Some might overthink their video. Others might hesitate to even try.
That’s normal. But there’s another way to look at it. You’re not being asked to be perfect. You’re just being asked to explain something to a friend in simple and clear words.
For VOTERS
As mentioned, you can also take part as a voter. Anyone with UP tokens can vote. And even that isn’t just passive. If you vote thoughtfully and objectively support strong submissions, you earn rewards too. But be aware that if you vote only in favor of someone you like, rather than because their content is excellent, the UP tokens you staked will be "slashed" by 10%. Read more about that in the Incented guidelines here.
But don't be afraid, it sounds harsher than it is because at its core it encourages that better content wins and no one can game the system.
Who owns your Content?
Since Unlock is all about creator ownership, of course, your content will always belong to you. By submitting, you agree that Unlock can repost your video if it qualifies, and you will be credited. You can still share it on your own platforms too. It’s a small detail, but it shows respect for the people creating it.
Getting Started
As mentioned before, anyone can take part. So if someone you know enjoys making videos, tell them too. Here are a few things you need to get together before submitting your video:
Read the full campaign here or watch the video explainer here.
A crypto wallet, so you can receive rewards if your video qualifies, and create an account with Incented.
A TikTok or YouTube account, so your work can be shared and credited.
A basic understanding of Unlock is easy to pick up along the way from our website, documentation, and Google.
Join the Unlock DAO Telegram chat to get feedback before submitting, or just ask questions to complete your video.
When you step back and look at everything, it stops feeling like just a campaign. It’s not really about rewards. It’s about participation. It’s not about pushing “new tech.” It’s about helping more people understand something useful.
It’s about many small contributions coming together. Jef didn’t know if his video would win. But somewhere along the way, that stopped being the point. He had taken something that felt distant and made it simple.
And in doing that, he became part of something bigger without even forcing it. Maybe that’s what this is really about. Not a loud opportunity. Just a quiet one that makes sense once you give it a moment.
And if you’ve made it this far, then you probably already feel it.
Sometimes, all it takes is one clear explanation to open the door for someone else.
This might be your chance to contribute and make some extra coin at the same time!

Publish from the company context you already have

Your voice, goals, and approvals stay in the loop.
