Examples on website no longer work because of CORS

I see a bunch of errors like these displayed in the browser console when accessing for example http://polymaps.org/ex/unemployment.html:

unemployment.html:1 Access to XMLHttpRequest at 'http://polymaps.appspot.com/state/4/4/5.json' from origin 'http://polymaps.org' has been blocked by CORS policy: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource.
polymaps.appspot.com/state/4/4/5.json:1 Failed to load resource: net::ERR_FAILED
