[Content] Publish complete DP-700 objective-aligned study chapters #36

Description

@troyscott

Outcome

Publish a comprehensive, original DP-700 study book aligned to all 54 objectives in the current official Microsoft Study Guide. Microsoft Learn remains authoritative; chapters explain, compare, demonstrate, and test the material rather than reproducing Learn pages.

Definition of complete

An objective is complete only when all applicable elements are present:

  • Conceptual model and precise terminology
  • Responsibilities, prerequisites, and security boundaries
  • Configuration or implementation procedure
  • Decision criteria and trade-offs
  • Worked SQL, PySpark, KQL, Power Query, or configuration example
  • Product limitations and common failure modes
  • Troubleshooting and monitoring evidence
  • Exam distinctions and likely traps
  • At least two objective-specific active-recall questions
  • A scenario or mini-lab for each major topic
  • Exact current Microsoft Learn sources with retrieval date and content hash

Word count is a warning signal, not proof of completeness.

Implementation phases

Phase 1 — Comprehensive coverage contract

  • Build a 54-row objective and subtopic audit
  • Map each subtopic to current official Microsoft Learn documentation
  • Add machine-readable coverage fields for concepts, procedures, examples, failures, questions, and sources
  • Replace chapter-level minimum-word validation with objective-level completeness validation

Phase 2 — Implement and manage an analytics solution

  • Complete workspace settings coverage
  • Expand Git integration, database projects, and deployment pipelines
  • Expand the Fabric and OneLake security model
  • Add complete Dataflow, notebook, and pipeline orchestration patterns

Phase 3 — Ingest and transform data

  • Add full and incremental loading implementations
  • Add dimensional loading and slowly changing dimension examples
  • Add detailed Dataflow Gen2 transformation walkthroughs
  • Cover query folding, schema behavior, and destination behavior
  • Compare shortcuts, mirroring, copy jobs, and pipeline copies
  • Add PySpark, SQL, and KQL implementations
  • Expand Eventstreams, Structured Streaming, KQL, windows, watermarks, and late-data handling

Phase 4 — Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize

  • Add Monitoring hub and item-specific operational workflows
  • Expand semantic model refresh and Activator alerts
  • Add evidence-led diagnostics for all seven error objectives
  • Add Delta, Warehouse, Spark, pipeline, Eventhouse, Eventstream, and query optimization
  • Include before-and-after measurements and scenario questions

Phase 5 — Final evaluation

  • Validate all 54 objective coverage records
  • Check links, retrieval dates, content hashes, and source mappings
  • Verify technical examples and rendered code
  • Test iPhone-sized and desktop layouts
  • Complete a chapter-by-chapter editorial audit
  • Publish a final completeness report before requesting human PR review

Final acceptance criteria

  • All 54 measured objectives pass the comprehensive rubric
  • All 10 chapters are complete and mobile-readable
  • No placeholder, outline-only, or title-only coverage remains
  • Dataflow Gen2 includes worked transformations, folding, schema, destination, and tool-selection guidance
  • Source registry and coverage records are current and bidirectional
  • Content, rendering, quality, browser-state, and responsive-layout checks pass
  • PR remains draft until the final completeness report is posted
