I'm hoping it's going to help resolve the issues we're facing with replica lag. When writing data to a master database then immediately performing a READ to render a response we often hit stale data issues from our read replica instance. The example given above in the django docs is pretty naive and doesn't make any attempt to address the issue of lag.
