This is the Connected West Yorkshire GitHub page where you can find a summary of the data available. The diagram below shows the range of data we have, this Wheel of Data links to the various sources that make this up. When an Analyst wants to request data the Expression of Interest has several "areas" these correspond to the data and the table below the wheel shows this relationship.
The CWY databases comprise information from linked health and other associated data. This includes detailed health records for 1.4 million primary care patients, as well as several crucial satellite datasets, such as those from the Yorkshire Ambulance Service, Social Services, Education, and Mental Health. By combining these datasets, researchers can conduct meaningful investigations into health-related conditions and their underlying causes, with the goal of enhancing understanding and care for the citizens of Bradford and surrounding regions.
Connected West Yorkshire is a linked research dataset and is described here https://wellcomeopenresearch.org/articles/7-26 (DOI 10.12688/wellcomeopenres.17526.2)
These pages contain a list of all the data currently available, each repository contains a summary of the data and the demographics for that data set. The data accessible to Analysts is in a Flexible Data Model (FDM). The FDM specifications and methodology can be found here: https://github.com/ConnectedBradford//CB_FDM_Specifications. Each folder contains the code used to develop that fdm, and any documentation associated with it, such as the data dictionaries. The basic Data Dictionary contains details of the table, fields and field type, and sample data value. Where there is a supplier provided data dictionary this is also included.
When an Analyst/Researcher carries out a project they are given a reference number. That number is used to create a Github folder into which the code and output from that work are then published. The folder format is : "CB_nnnn - description". These descriptions are names based on the project topic and the reference number. An analyst from the Connected West Yorkshire team works with the researcher to extract the relevant data from the various data sources and bring it together to build a research specific dataset in the FDM format. This research specific FDM is then accessed via our Secure on premise platform, using standard tooling such as R, Python within Vscode orAnaconda (Jupyter Notebooks (running Python and R)).
The Connected West Yorkshire analysts role will be to: build the dataset with the researcher input, or to build and actually perform the analysis, the latter depending on resources and budgets.

The Connected West Yorkshire dataset contains over 7 million patients with linked health and other associated data from different sources, including detailed health data on 1.4 million primary care patients (the full GP patient history), and various important satellite datasets such as Yorkshire Ambulance Service data.
