Building an AI-powered customer communication platform for small and medium businesses. Designed the product concept, MVP architecture, business workflow, and AI receptionist experience, with a deployed landing page and dashboard prototype. The planned product capabilities include customer support, lead capture, appointment booking, and automated follow-ups through WhatsApp. The project focuses on applying artificial intelligence to practical business communication workflows and exploring how an AI-powered receptionist can help businesses manage customer interactions more efficiently. Attendly | AI WhatsApp Receptionist for SMBs is an AI-powered customer communication and business automation platform I am building to help small and medium-sized businesses manage customer interactions more efficiently through WhatsApp by transforming the traditional receptionist experience into an intelligent, automated, and scalable digital workflow. I designed the product concept, MVP architecture, application workflow, user experience, and overall business automation direction around the idea of an AI receptionist that can serve as a business’s first point of contact, communicate naturally with customers, understand questions and requests, provide business-specific information, answer frequently asked questions, collect customer details, capture and qualify potential leads, assist with appointment-related inquiries and booking workflows, and support automated customer follow-ups. The platform is designed to allow businesses to provide their own business context, including services, working hours, FAQs, policies, contact information, and other relevant details, enabling the AI receptionist to generate responses that are more relevant to the individual business rather than behaving like a generic chatbot. I focused the product around practical business communication problems such as missed inquiries, repetitive customer questions, slow response times, manual lead collection, appointment coordination, and follow-up tasks, with the goal of allowing businesses to automate routine conversations while maintaining the ability to involve a human employee whenever a customer requires personal attention, a complex request needs escalation, or the AI reaches the limits of its capabilities. Rather than treating AI simply as a conversational interface, Attendly is designed to turn customer conversations into actionable business workflows by connecting AI communication with lead capture, customer information management, appointment processes, follow-up automation, and other repetitive operational tasks. I developed the product experience around a deployed landing page and dashboard prototype, establishing the foundation for a broader AI-powered SaaS platform focused on real-world business communication and workflow automation. From a technical perspective, the application is built on a modern Next.js 16 App Router, React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS 4, shadcn/ui, Prisma, Zod, and Vitest foundation, providing the structure required for a scalable web application, reusable user-interface components, API-driven functionality, database interaction, validation, testing, and deployment. The repository uses package.json to manage the application's dependencies and development lifecycle, including development, production build, linting, formatting, type checking, testing, and Prisma database commands, while package-lock.json locks dependency versions to provide reproducible installations. The src directory serves as the primary application area containing the product interface, routes, API handlers, reusable components, hooks, business logic, database utilities, navigation, styling, and other application-specific functionality, following the project's defined application architecture. The project uses Prisma for database interaction, with prisma.config.ts configuring Prisma to locate the schema within the prisma/schema directory and supporting environment-based database configuration for development and deployment. proxy.ts provides the application's request-level security and Content Security Policy layer, including per-request security nonces and the middleware integration point, while next.config.ts manages the Next.js application configuration and important security headers such as transport security, content-type protection, frame protection, referrer policy, permissions policy, and cross-origin security controls. next.user-config.ts provides the user-owned configuration layer for application-specific Next.js customization, including remote image sources, browser capabilities, additional Content Security Policy sources, and optional configuration plugins. The project uses components.json to configure the shadcn/ui component system, including its design style, Tailwind integration, component aliases, and Lucide icon library, while biome.json establishes code-quality, linting, import, correctness, and formatting rules to maintain a consistent and reliable codebase. vitest.config.ts configures the project's unit-testing environment with Vitest, React support, jsdom, and the project's test structure, providing a foundation for validating application contracts, API behavior, and utility logic, while tsconfig.json establishes strict TypeScript settings, modern JavaScript targets, module resolution, JSX support, path aliases, and compile-time type checking. postcss.config.mjs provides the Tailwind CSS 4 PostCSS integration used by the application, and polsia.toml defines the deployment and runtime configuration for the Node.js application, including the build process, startup process, health-check endpoint, runtime port configuration, database environment configuration, and scheduled background jobs. The repository also contains AGENTS.md, which documents the underlying Polsia Next.js architecture, development workflow, ownership model, framework boundaries, application structure, and rules for safely extending the project, helping separate framework-managed infrastructure from application-specific development. Supporting repository files such as .gitignore manage which generated, environment-specific, sensitive, or unnecessary files should remain outside version control, .npmrc provides npm configuration, and LICENSE defines the licensing terms for the underlying project code. Through Attendly, my work combines Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, AI-powered automation, software development, SaaS product design, customer communication workflows, and business process automation into a practical product concept aimed at solving a real operational problem for businesses. The broader vision is to evolve Attendly beyond a single WhatsApp receptionist into a platform of AI-powered digital employees capable of performing specialized business functions such as customer support, sales assistance, lead qualification, appointment management, customer follow-ups, information handling, and other repetitive communication-driven tasks. Built and completed an AI-agent-driven software engineering workflow focused on task definition, agent instructions, implementation, testing, validation, and submission pipelines. The project involved giving an AI agent precise instructions and requirements and guiding it to independently execute and complete structured software tasks within a GitHub repository. Worked with a structured repository containing task specifications, source files, tests, scripts, configuration, and supporting infrastructure. Worked on solution workflows using solution/solve.sh and supporting project logic, with automated testing through tests/test.sh and test_outputs.py. Used artifact-based validation to verify that the agent's implementation produced the required behavior and outputs. Worked with Docker-based, reproducible environments using Dockerfile configuration, pinned dependencies, and controlled execution environments. Also worked with proposal generation, proposal/pipelining workflows, Git branches, submission processes, and repository organization involving .github, .dynamo, and .harbor directories. The completed workflow was evaluated through the Harbor oracle and achieved a reward of 1.0, demonstrating successful task execution and validation. This project provided hands-on experience with AI agents, prompt and instruction engineering, autonomous task execution, Git/GitHub workflows, repository architecture, automated testing, Docker environments, task specification, proposal pipelines, validation systems, debugging, and reproducible software engineering workflows.
