Welcome to Forestritium

The Neural Ecosystem for AI Enthusiasts and Programmers

Welcome to Forestritium. This is a collaborative space designed for growth, experimentation, and peer-to-peer support. This organization serves as a collective workshop where members can learn, review, and evolve together through interconnectedness and shared resources.

Our Mission

We believe that the best way to master AI and programming is through supportive collaboration. Forestritium is a volunteer-driven ecosystem where members:

  • Volunteer time to review each other's code.
  • Collaborate on innovative AI and software projects.
  • Share knowledge to bridge the gap between basic functionality and technical excellence.

Community Standards and Rules

1. Creative Freedom and Privacy

  • Privacy Choice: Members have full freedom to keep their projects private if they prefer, or make them public to invite community contributions.
  • Scope: You are free to create any project you are passionate about, provided it is legal and ethical.
  • Open Collaboration: You are free to collaborate with anyone within the organization.

2. Respect and Conduct

  • Be Respectful: We are a community of learners. Treat every question and every line of code with respect. Harassment or exclusionary behavior will not be tolerated.
  • Constructive Feedback: When reviewing code, focus on helping the author improve. Explain the reasoning behind your suggestions to facilitate learning.

3. AI Usage Policy

  • AI Assistance: While the use of AI for writing code is permitted within this organization, it is not recommended as a primary method. We encourage manual coding to ensure deep understanding and personal skill growth. If you choose to use AI, please ensure you thoroughly review and understand the generated code before committing it.

4. Safety and Integrity

  • No Unethical Content: We do not support projects designed for illegal acts, malware, or unethical AI use.
  • Secret Management: Never upload API keys, passwords, or sensitive tokens. Use .env files and ensure your .gitignore settings are correctly configured.

5. Maintenance and Inactivity Policy

To keep our workspace active and relevant, we follow a 1-year activity rule:

  • Projects: If a project has no updates for over 1 year, it must either:
    • Be deleted by the owner.
    • Contain a file named DISCONTINUED.md or INACTIVE.md stating the reason for the pause and an expected restart date (if planned).
  • Members: Members who are inactive for more than 1 year may be flagged or removed to ensure the community list reflects active contributors.
