Setting up Visual Studio Code

Now that you've made the first step for creating your project, you'll need to have some way to actually make your own changes. In this tutorial, we will cover using the program Visual Studio Code. Other code editing programs are used in the hacking community, but VS Code provides the easiest interface for working with Git and WSL.

First, install it from here: https://code.visualstudio.com/

(Note that "Visual Studio Code" is an entirely separate program from the program called "Visual Studio". The only correlation between them is that they're both code editors made by Microsoft, and the latter is very much not recommended for ROM hacking.)

Once you have VSC installed, you will need to install some extensions.
