The fourth mainline diesel locomotive for the American region rebalance/expansion: the DFL-40 'Banshee', based on the EMD F40PH. It's meant as a successor to the OG E8 in passenger service, but is also a very capable general purpose locomotive. This diesel locomotive is available between 1975 and 2008, has a top speed of 90 mph, and a power of 3000 hp. As it has a considerably higher speed than other diesels of the era, it has a higher running cost than normal, however it is not as extreme as the costs seen with the OGE electrics.
