Aspiring Keyboard is a Windows app which allows using a computer without a mouse.

Aspiring Keyboard has mouse actions assigned to hotkeys. When you press a hotkey the mousegrid is shown. The mousegrid divides the screen into up to 2500 figures for any keyboard layout and up to 3364 figures for US English / US International keyboard layout. Typing 2 characters inside mousegrid figure moves the mouse cursor to the center of that figure and performs a mouse action that was chosen earlier by pressing a hotkey. You can move the mousegrid by pressing arrow keys. Pressing caps lock while mousegrid is visible changes moving precision.
Aspiring Keyboard works in 3 modes:
- OFF – represented by red icon (also in the system tray). You can press Pause Break or right click Aspiring Keyboard icon in system tray (and choose Toggle) to turn program on.
- Green – represented by green icon. This mode allows using green mode actions. You can change mode by pressing Scroll Lock or right clicking app icon in system tray (and choosing Switch mode).
- Blue – represented by blue icon. This mode allows using blue mode actions.
Mousegrid types are:
- Hexagonal – consists of regular hexagons (hexagons may be almost regular, because their height may be changed so screen is equally covered by them – the same thing can happen to the figures in other mousegrid types)
- Square – consists of squares.
- Square horizontal precision – consists of squares that are positioned in a way that increases mouse horizontal precision.
- Square vertical precision – consists of squares that are positioned in a way that increases mouse vertical precision.
- Square combined precision – consists of squares that are positioned in a way that increases mouse horizontal and vertical precision.
Smart Mousegrid:
- When Smart mousegrid is enabled, mouse control is sped up based on how you use each application. The more often a figure is chosen, the easier to type characters it has.
- Smart mousegrid works separately for each application.
- Smart mousegrid data is collected separately for each keyboard layout, mousegrid type and desired figures number.
