This repository is the public product home for SpaceLint downloads, release notes, documentation, and issue tracking. SpaceLint is proprietary commercial software; its application source code and privileged helper are not published here.
Generic cleaners tell you that a folder is large. SpaceLint explains:

- Protected by default — shared containers, ambiguous directories, running apps, symlinks, unreadable items, and system-owned data stay unselected or display-only.
- Review before cleanup — cleanup plans preserve the exact selected scope and revalidate filesystem identity before acting.
- Recoverable where possible — eligible files use same-volume seven-day quarantine and conflict-safe exact-path restore.
- Honest about disk space — quarantined files still occupy space; immediate deletion is available only behind a separate typed confirmation.
- Native administrator approval — protected app uninstall uses the macOS Service Management helper and accepts only narrowly scoped app operations.
- No fake performance promises — no RAM cleaning, antivirus claims, health scores, or “one-click speed boost.”
SpaceLint Free is permanent. It has no trial clock, scan limit, or activation requirement.

- Download SpaceLint 1.0.1.
- Open the DMG and drag SpaceLint into
/Applications. - Launch SpaceLint and complete the read-only first scan.
SpaceLint requires macOS 14 or later and is Developer ID signed and Apple-notarized for direct distribution.
Storage scanning and cleanup stay on your Mac. SpaceLint does not collect analytics, telemetry, file names, project names, or browsing behavior. Network access is limited to user-initiated checkout, Pro license activation/validation, and update checks.
