⚠️ PROJECT RETIRED: Please use AirScan Hybrid

Notice: This hardware-sweeping version of AirScan has been officially retired and archived. It will no longer receive updates.

Why was this retired?

This original script used a method called "hardware sweeping" (telling the physical RTL-SDR chip to rapidly tune back and forth between channels). Because the hardware takes milliseconds to lock onto a new frequency, this method causes micro-drops in audio, resulting in choppy, stuttering AM aviation voices.

The New Standard: AirScan Hybrid

We have completely rebuilt the scanner to fix this issue. The new AirScan Hybrid uses modern Digital Signal Processing (DSP) to park the dongle in one spot and listen to a massive chunk of the aviation band all at the exact same time.

Upgrading gets you:

  • Crystal clear, drop-free AM audio.
  • A live "Hit Counter" to track channel activity.
  • A dynamic [F] filter key to instantly hide dead air.
  • A perfectly aligned, mathematically locked terminal dashboard.
