Codex-native packaging of Anthropic's code-simplifier Claude Code agent as an installable Codex skill.
This repository is intentionally small: it contains only the Codex skill, install/validation scripts, license, and attribution. It is not a fork and does not carry the upstream plugin repository layout.
git clone https://github.com/aalvsz/code-simplifier-codex.git
cd code-simplifier-codex
./scripts/install.shThen start a new Codex session or reload skills and invoke:
$code-simplifier
Example:
Use $code-simplifier to simplify the code I just changed while preserving behavior.
The skill preserves the upstream simplifier behavior:
- Preserve exact functionality.
- Follow local project standards.
- Reduce unnecessary complexity, nesting, redundancy, and unclear naming.
- Avoid nested ternaries and overly clever one-liners.
- Focus on recently modified code unless asked to inspect a broader scope.
- Verify that the result is simpler and behavior-preserving.
Codex skill metadata only supports name and description in SKILL.md, so the upstream Claude-only model: opus field is intentionally omitted.
