Hoverbar is a Firefox extension that mirrors your Bookmarks Toolbar as a hover-revealed overlay on web pages.
I used to handle this with a custom userChrome.css, but I created this extension because it cannot create an auto-hiding bookmarks bar that overlays the page instead of pushing it up or down, which was annoying.
- Shows your Bookmarks Toolbar on regular web pages.
- Includes custom Home and New Tab pages with the same bookmark bar.
- Lets you choose the bar position, icon size, spacing, and whether bookmark names are shown.
- Supports bookmark folders, dividers, editing, drag-and-drop reordering, and a few opening behavior options.
- Follows Firefox light/dark and theme colors where available.
You can install it like a regular Firefox extension by clicking here. The file is signed by Mozilla and should work in any modern version of Firefox without additional effort.
