This release increments the plugin version to 0.6.1 and expands the AI provider configuration documentation to cover AWS Bedrock installations. The documentation additions address a gap in setup guidance for teams running WordPress AI Client with Bedrock as the underlying provider, where environment variable configuration differs from the standard Mistral path. Changes span three files with 30 net insertions, all non-breaking and limited to documentation and the version header.

Version and Release Metadata:

  • Bumped WAYGATE_VERSION constant and the plugin header in waygate.php to 0.6.1, in accordance with the three-location version checklist defined for this project.
  • Added a corresponding 0.6.1 entry to CHANGELOG.md to maintain release traceability.

Documentation and AI Provider Guidance:

  • Expanded README.md with a dedicated section on configuring the WordPress AI Client for AWS Bedrock, detailing the required environment variables and their expected values for Bedrock-backed installs.
  • Clarified the distinction between Mistral and Bedrock provider setup paths, ensuring operators can correctly configure either option without ambiguity in the provider registry.
