Hi, I'm Julia

I am an Applied Mathematics student at IU Indianapolis with a minor in Applied Data Science and a certificate in Artificial Intelligence.

My main interests are data science, sports analytics, biomathematical modeling, data visualization, and predictive modeling.

This GitHub account is where I showcase my projects, skills, and ideas. I am always happy to connect, share ideas, and collaborate.

1) Quantifying Passing Decision Quality Under Pressure Summer 2026| R

A capstone sports analytics project completed during Carnegie Mellon Sports Analytics Camp 2026. We used R, Quarto, tracking and event data, and statistical and machine learning models to compare a player’s chosen pass with the highest threat realistic option and identify which spatial and defensive factors predict whether an attacker selects it.

2) UFA Throwing EDA CMSACamp Summer 2026 | R

A sports analytics project created during Carnegie Mellon Sports Analytics Camp 2026. I used R, Quarto, and data visualization to analyze team performance in the Ultimate Frisbee Association, focusing on scoring efficiency, turnovers, and playing style.

3) Dodgeball Mathematical Modeling Spring 2026 | Python and Math Modeling

A group project completed for MATH-I 426: Introduction to Applied Mathematics and Modeling. Based on the paper Dodge and Survive: Modeling the Predatory Nature of Dodgeball, we studied deterministic and stochastic models used to compare different dodgeball strategies. I focused on stochastic modeling, created a Python simulation, and studied the deterministic equations and steady states.

4) Soccer Player Performance Database Spring 2025 | SQL

A final project for INFO-I 308, taught by Dr. Catherine Walsh. I built a normalized SQL database for soccer player and match performance, using joins, queries, views, triggers, and indexes. The data included in this project was generated for educational purposes and does not represent an official historical dataset.
