Summary
Documents a new (Beta) AI agent capability that lets users ask an agent in chat or Slack to change something in their dbt repository — rename a metric, add a dimension, edit YAML — and have the agent open a pull request with the proposed change.
Changes
guides/ai-agents/repository-writeback.mdxcovering when to use the feature, prerequisites (GitHub-backed dbt project, GitHub App installed, feature flag enabled), how it works, example prompts, and failure modes.docs.json.guides/ai-agents/using-ai-agents.mdxso users can discover it.Context
Triggered by an upstream change that wires the existing writeback service into the AI chat agent as a new tool, gated by a feature flag. The chat-driven flow surfaces the same capability previously available only via the REST writeback endpoint, in every agent the user already chats with.
