This page explains how to begin using modcore Source to inspect extension packages.

Loading an Extension

There are three primary ways to load an extension for inspection:

  1. Drag and Drop: Drag a .crx file directly into the browser window.
  2. File Picker: Use the "Open CRX" button in the header to select a file from your local system.
  3. Landing Page Upload: Use the central upload area on the initial welcome screen.

Navigating the Interface

  • Sidebar: Located on the left, the sidebar contains the file tree. You can search for specific files or collapse the entire directory structure.
  • Tab Bar: Files open in a tabbed interface at the top of the main area, allowing you to switch between multiple scripts or assets quickly.
  • Editor Area: The central space where code and media are displayed.
  • Status Bar: Located at the bottom, providing information on the current file size, language, and cursor position.
