LGTM!

One small thing: this PR is mainly for dependency updates, but it also adds the OpenSSF badges to the README. Should we keep that in a separate PR or may be in #84 ? Not blocking either way.

@BittuBarnwal7479 it's not so important - i think i'm supposed to post the badge within a few days after achieving it so i wanted that to ride along.
