Some of Xperi-R's features (like reading hardware key events or changing secure settings) need Android permissions that apps can't just ask for example READ_LOGS & WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS. To unlock these, Xperi-R walks you through a one-time setup step per feature:
Rooted device? Tap the button on-screen and the app grants itself the permission via su. Not rooted? The app shows you a single adb shell pm grant ... command. Tap the card to copy or share it, run it once from a computer with ADB set up, and that's all no root needed.
Once granted, permissions persist across reboots (until you revoke them or reinstall), so this is a one-time setup per feature, not something you'll be doing on every launch. From there, open any feature from the home screen, flip it on, and configure the behavior to match how you actually use your Xperia.
🎥 Camera Key Overrider: Remap the hardware camera key's half-press (focus), full-press (shutter), and long-press to custom actions.
🖐️ Prevent Accidental Touch: Stop unintentional key presses or screen taps while your phone is in a pocket or bag.
📵 Flip to Shush: Turn on Do Not Disturb just by placing your phone face down on a flat surface.
🎛 Per-App Refresh Rate: Cap the screen refresh rate while specific apps are in the foreground, restored automatically when you leave them (root required).
🔒 Lockscreen Shortcuts: Customize the left and right lockscreen shortcuts to launch the apps or actions you actually use.
🎙️ Assistant Button: Reassign the Assistant button to a custom action, and optionally hide its sound cue.
☕ Coffee & Tea Tiles: Keep your phone awake while looking at it with Coffee, or keep it awake with the screen off with Tea, both from a quick settings tile.
🔗 Link Cleaner: Strip tracking parameters from shared links.
💬 Click to WA Chat: Turn a copied phone number into a one-tap WhatsApp chat link.
🌐 Android App Link Chooser: Take back control over which app opens a shared link with a custom chooser and per-app link target approval.
