Hardware engineer who builds complete products end to end: electronics, firmware, mechanical design, and the software that ties them together. Based in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
My current focus is low-cost, open-source robotics: mobile manipulation and learning from human demonstration through imitation learning. I like bridging hardware I can build with my hands and the embodied-AI methods that make it useful.
- Founding Engineer at Ghorar Dim Studios
- Fab Academy 2019 graduate
- Two IEEE conference publications, four competitive grants
I also document and publish my hardware work publicly as Samiul Makes, building reproducible robotics projects anyone can learn from.
Embedded: AVR / Arduino, ESP-IDF, STM32, FreeRTOS Hardware: PCB design (KiCad, Altium, Eagle), SMT assembly, sensor fusion Robotics: holonomic drive, odometry, imitation learning, LeRobot Software: C / C++, Python, JavaScript / Node.js Fabrication: 3D printing, CNC, laser cutting
- Open Omnibot — open-source four-wheeled holonomic drive robot with per-wheel self-calibration. Platform behind my BSc thesis, with a related publication pending.
- CAN-BUS-HAT_lumo — CAN bus HAT hardware for automotive / connected-vehicle work.
- HAB-BlackHorse — high-altitude balloon project that reached 32.45 km.
- ESP32-Audiopad — ESP32-based audio device.
- Comparative Analysis of Sensor Fusion Techniques for Odometry Estimation in a Four-Wheeled Holonomic Drive Robot Using Wheel Encoders and IMU (BSc thesis, 2026)
