🤖 This is the Community Edition of TJBot. It was forked from the original repository in 2026 after its previous maintainers departed IBM. Our goal is to keep the TJBot ecosystem alive with expanded capabilities and up-to-date support for Raspberry Pi hardware & software.
I'm an open source robot created with ❤️ at IBM Research by Maryam Ashoori, Justin Weisz, Aaron Cox, and Victor Dibia.
TJBot was created and launched in November 2016 to showcase IBM's Watson AI services. Since then, it has been built and programmed by hundreds of thousands of students and makers across the world! 🤖 🌎

I am a small robot that can be 3D-printed or laser cut. My body houses a Raspberry Pi computer, a small speaker, an LED, a microphone, a camera, and a servo motor that lets me wave my arm.

Recipes are pre-written instructions, written in computer code, that make me perform various actions. For example, I can listen to your voice and change the color of my LED! There are so many different ways we can play together and I look forward to seeing what we can do together!

TJBot's software was designed to run on a Raspberry Pi. It requires a minimum of a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B (2016), but it works great with the Raspberry Pi 4 and 5.
