I work where business strategy, engineering and finance meet. I set direction, own the numbers and understand the technology well enough to know what is actually possible — and what it will really cost. My bias is towards clarity and efficiency: fewer moving parts, decisions made once, and organisations that run smoothly without heroics.

- Strategy & operations — turning goals into plans, plans into systems, and systems into measurable results.
- Finance — budgets, unit economics, pricing and the discipline of knowing what things actually cost.
- Engineering — a systems view of how a business actually runs: data, processes, internal platforms and the people in between. Pragmatic by default; I have little patience for complexity that exists only for its own sake.
As an engineer I am most at home with complexity at scale — the kind that builds up in large organisations over years of growth, acquisitions and good intentions. It might be a business development or marketing function that has outgrown the way it operates, or a migration of the internal systems an entire company depends on. What I enjoy is understanding how the organisation actually works, deciding what it should look like, and driving the change through — across teams, systems and the politics in between.
That is also where I see myself going: leading transformation at the intersection of business and technology in large organisations, where a clear head for complexity makes the biggest difference.

Malica — group lunch ordering on top of Wolt. Everyone picks their dish, one person orders, Malica splits the bill fairly. Python standard library + vanilla JS, plus a Chrome/Edge extension that fills the orderer's Wolt basket in one click. Built after watching coworkers collect lunch orders by hand every single day — the tool took less time than another week of that. Live at malica.stavio.net.

Pulse — finance business intelligence for an ad-tech company, built while I was CFO there: revenue, margin, forecast, P&L, costs and financial statements in one dashboard, rebuilt every hour straight from the ERP. I wanted a tool the management team could actually use to make decisions — one place with one set of numbers, instead of a monthly Excel ritual. Python build pipeline (pandas), vanilla JS/SVG front end with drill-down and no libraries, Flask admin with roles and manual inputs. The project page has screenshots of the demo build; the source repository is private (the company's data is not mine to share) and available on request.
- Understand how things really flow before changing anything.
- Decide what the end state should look like — then drive it through, across teams and systems.
- Simplest version first, measure, then decide whether it deserves more.
