per source file. Check #6012's sub-issue completion state before assuming this work still needs
scoping from scratch.

## Rent-a-Loop / hosted-product direction (as of 2026-07-21 — actively evolving, re-check before trusting)

The maintainer confirmed the end vision explicitly: a hosted cloud product with **two separate
customer-facing apps/dashboards** — one for miners (AMS-facing, codenamed "AMS" for now, may rebrand),
one for maintainers (ORB-facing, codenamed "ORB" for now) — sharing backend primitives/design system but
with genuinely different UX per persona. The maintainer is designing the actual frontends in Lovable and
will replace the existing dashboard UI; **this skill's job is backend/wiring/functionality/gap
planning only, never frontend visual design** — don't file issues that presuppose a specific page
layout or design element, only what data/actions a surface needs to expose.

**Settlement/economics — externally blocked, direction still in flux.** #6098's pluggable
settlement-backend interface (gittensor-owned or self-built) is the correct spec-level answer and
isn't changing. But *which* backend wins is blocked on gittensor subnet-side alignment (#4781) and, as
of 2026-07-21, that conversation is still live — gittensor's own team was independently discussing
replacing a pool-funding model with a live repo-registry + emission-share-reweight endpoint instead
(see #6569's comment history). Do not assume either model is final when scoping new economics-adjacent
issues; if a gap's shape depends on which one wins, it's a decision-scoping issue (maintainer-only),
not buildable work yet.

**BYOR + APR are both confirmed in scope** (#7589 epic). One concrete, expensive lesson from
2026-07-21: APR repo creation does **not** use a new GitHub org or App-installation-token — everything
stays under the JSONbored personal account, and repo creation goes through the *existing* "Loopover
OAuth" app (`src/auth/github-oauth.ts`) with a `repo`-scope extension, calling `POST /user/repos`. An
earlier version of this plan (org + installation token) was filed as a real issue, had to be corrected
publicly, and nearly cost a contributor wasted work before anyone picked it up. If a future run touches
repo-provisioning issues, verify against `github-oauth.ts`'s actual current scope handling before
citing this from memory — this is exactly the kind of assumption that must be grounded in the real
code, not restated from a summary (this file included).

**Tenant execution sandboxing — real security decisions were made, none are built yet.** #7180 (real
provisioning driver), #7648 (network-egress default), #7649 (per-attempt data fork for APR), and a
research-grounded comment on #7180 itself (Cloudflare Containers vs. microVM isolation tiers, secret
injection should target a Vercel-style header-injection pattern, not plaintext env vars) are all filed
maintainer-only. This is the single most security-critical area in the whole roadmap — never generate
a contributor-eligible issue touching sandbox provisioning, secret injection, or network egress without
explicit maintainer sign-off first, even if the underlying code change looks mechanical.

**When genuinely uncertain whether a hosted-product gap is safe to unlock: default maintainer-only,
every time.** The `github-oauth.ts` mistake above is the concrete proof this isn't hypothetical —
getting this wrong publishes wrong information to real contributors who move on issues within minutes
of them being filed. A wrongly-locked issue costs one manual unlock later; a wrongly-unlocked one
costs a contributor's wasted PR and a public correction.

## Milestone taxonomy (as of 2026-07-14 — re-check before trusting, this moves fast)
